Try new things, learn new skills and discover what you excel at—all from Day One.Job DescriptionThe Senior Audit Manager – Professional Practices Strategy & Transformation is responsible for advancing the strategic priorities of Corporate Audit Services (CAS) Professional Practices through the design, execution, and delivery of high-impact initiatives that enhance audit effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability.This role serves as a key leader within Professional Practices, driving audit lifecycle design and simplification, improvement initiatives, and change management efforts. The individual will partner closely across Professional Practices and audit teams to translate strategy into practical, sustainable solutions.This is a highly visible role requiring strong collaboration, influence, and execution across multiple stakeholders. While the role does not have direct reports, it will lead cross-functional project teams and may have dotted-line leadership responsibilities.Primary ResponsibilitiesProfessional Practices Strategy & ExecutionPartner with leadership to shape and operationalize strategic prioritiesTranslate strategy into actionable roadmaps, initiatives, and deliverablesMonitor progress and ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory expectationsAudit Lifecycle Design & SimplificationLead end-to-end design and simplification of the audit lifecycle and related workflows (planning through reporting)Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, duplication, and unnecessary complexityPartner with methodology, planning, operations, and audit teams to ensure solutions are practical and scalableImprovement Initiatives & Special ProjectsLead cross-functional initiatives aligned to efficiency, automation, standardization, and innovationManage a portfolio of high-priority projects with clear outcomes, timelines, and success measuresDrive execution through structured project management and stakeholder coordinationChange Management & AdoptionDevelop and execute change management strategies to support successful implementation of new processes, tools, and ways of workingEnsure changes are clearly communicated, well understood, and effectively adopted across audit teamsPartner with training and communications resources to support rollout and sustainmentCommunications & Stakeholder EngagementDevelop clear, concise, and compelling communications for a variety of audiences, including senior leadershipServe as a key liaison between Professional Practices and audit teams to ensure alignment and transparencyFacilitate discussions, working sessions, and governance forums as neededCross-Team CollaborationPartner across Professional Practices (e.g., methodology, planning, operations, tooling, capability) to deliver integrated solutionsAct as a connector across teams to ensure consistency, reduce duplication, and enable effective executionBuild strong relationships with audit teams to understand pain points and inform continuous improvement effortsLeadership & Project OversightLead cross-functional project teams, including setting direction, coordinating resources, and holding team members accountable for deliveryProvide guidance and informal coaching to team members and project participantsInfluence without formal authority to drive outcomes across the organizationOther ResponsibilitiesRepresent Professional Practices in cross-CAS initiatives and working groupsPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically more than 10 years of applicable experience in internal audit, risk management, or related fieldPreferred Skills and ExperienceStrong understanding of internal audit practices, audit lifecycle, and regulatory expectations in financial servicesDemonstrated experience leading strategic initiatives, transformation efforts, or large-scale process improvementsProven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without direct authorityExperience with change management, process design, and simplification effortsExceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging for senior leadershipStrong collaboration skills with a track record of working effectively across teams and functionsAbility to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environmentFamiliarity with the design, configuration and administration of audit tools and platforms (e.g., TeamMate+, Archer eGRC, ServiceNow)Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Copilot)Applicable professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA)*This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.
