Lab Assistant
George C. Grape Community Hospital
Lab Assistant George C. Grape Community Hospital is looking for a Lab Assistant that is detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about supporting quality patient care. This position plays an important role in ensuring accurate specimen collection, processing, and support services that contribute to exceptional patient outcomes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Collect and process patient specimens according to established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and transport.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist with laboratory inventory and supply management.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
• Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assist laboratory personnel with routine operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous healthcare, laboratory, or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all work activities.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
