About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: New Mexico license can pend at the time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC in hand prior to submitting) Must-Have: Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day) Description: MUST work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles. Shorter contracts may be available at a lower rate. COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of the COVID exemption form, signed by a provider for medical exemptions. Patient ratios in the emergency room are 1:4. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend requirement is a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule period, possibly more based on department need. General Emergency Department experience is required. Experience with blood product administration, starting IVs, and trauma care is essential. Staffing will be in a full-service Emergency Department but without inpatient pediatric, OB, and cath lab responsibilities. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. Experience in a Level II Trauma Center is preferred. Travel experience is required. Candidates should have previous charge experience preferred. Experience with charting systems, specifically Cerner, is required. Additional skills should include management of ventilated patients, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and triage. No locals within a 100-mile radius will be accepted. RTO restrictions include no more than 7 days, with one holiday preferred and no RTO during the first 7 days or the last day of the contract. Modules for orientation are completed during scheduled hours. Candidates need to pass EKG testing with a maximum of two attempts. Patient age groups include neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 70 visits, with a total of 20 rooms and 26 beds available. Candidates are expected to complete compliance documentation within 10 days prior to starting. Returning staff must have a 12-month separation requirement. A six-month break is required for any travelers who have worked 4 consecutive contracts or reached their one-year mark, whichever occurs first. Candidates should not have any restrictions for compliance or submission.
