Nutrition Services Department Positions

Sartell-St. Stephen School District is currently hiring for a variety of substitute positions in our Nutrition Services Department to include servers, dishwashers, cafeteria workers, and cashiers for the 26-27 school year. The mission of our Nutrition Services Department is to proudly offer our students a wide variety of nutritious, affordable and satisfying meals that enables them to succeed academically and physically, while teaching lifelong healthful eating habits. We are currently hiring friendly, customer service oriented staff members looking to work in a fast paced environment. Essential functions include serving food according to established procedures while maintaining a neat and clean serving area. Uses proper utensils and monitors portion sizes. Maintains alertness to student allergy restrictions while serving and practices food safety and sanitation techniques. Daily set-up and clean-up of serving area. This includes, but is not limited to stocking products, portioning ala cart items and cleaning and sanitizing serving area. Responsible for daily food storage, including rotation of products, labeling, temping and expiration dates of food items. Clean and sanitize tables between lunch shifts. Assists dishwasher throughout shift, primarily removing clean dishes and restocking in the kitchen. Removes garbage from cafeteria. Disinfects trash cans. Processes food service purchases by entering charges or cash payments to appropriate accounts, and collects and disburses money accurately. This includes, but is not limited to recognizing reimbursable meals, ala carte purchase and additional purchases, charging appropriately.

Physical demands include standing continuously, walking frequently, reaching with arms/hands frequently, stoop/kneeling occasionally, lifting up to 20 pounds frequently, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and must be willing to work in all buildings and in all positions.

Hours and pay: Typical shift is 3-3.25 hours in length over the lunch hour (hours vary between 10:15am-2:45pm; depending upon the school) $15.50/hour.
