Job Overview

As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing complete estimates for medium-sized projects of varying complexity. You will utilize your expertise and creativity to plan and accomplish goals, working closely with senior estimators and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop pricing using industry-standard guidelines and estimating guides.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and utilize software tools for daily tasks.
• Calculate and prepare discipline estimates for the complete scope of work.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
• Coordinate the total estimating effort for assigned bids/projects.
• Mentor with Senior Estimators on cost estimating software.
• Maintain documentation as backup for estimates and assist in database integration.
• Interface with owners, architects/engineers, and contractors for project feasibility data.
• Break down estimates into a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) by material, labor, and equipment.
• Apply estimating standards for mark-up, contingency, and other construction percentages.

Requirements

• Proficiency in estimating techniques and cost control.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
• 1-2 years of construction cost estimating experience.

Preferences

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, Pipeline, Storage, M&R disciplines.

Schedule & Work Environment

This position offers a fully remote work environment with core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM EST. Candidates must be committed to being available and responsive during these hours. The role is part-time, requiring 40 hours per week, with 8-hour workdays.
