IT Manager

Full-time

Nucleom

Role Summary

The IT Manager USA is responsible for leading and executing IT operations for Ekoscan Integrity Group’s United States activities. The role is based in Rochester, New York, where the person will act as the primary on-site IT owner and lead the upcoming relocation of the business within Rochester.

Although this is a manager-level role, the current USA IT structure is lean. The position therefore requires a hands-on, independent, and resourceful IT lead who can solve issues directly, coordinate vendors, support users, document the environment, and create structure as the function grows.

The role also provides remote IT oversight for remote locations, including Houston, as well as remote employees. This includes user support coordination, infrastructure visibility, vendor follow-up, access management, device lifecycle support, cybersecurity follow-up, and alignment with group IT standards.

Beyond local USA operations, the IT Manager USA is expected to contribute to the development of the group’s broader IT capabilities. As the IT function matures, the person will have the opportunity and responsibility to grow into a group-level contributor in one or more areas of expertise aligned with their strengths and the group’s evolving needs. These areas may include cloud administration, identity and access management, endpoint management, infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, documentation, or other technical domains. The exact area of group contribution will be defined progressively with the CIO based on the candidate’s profile, demonstrated strengths, and group priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote IT oversight for remote locations and workers
  • Plan and coordinate the IT portion of the business move within Rochester

GROUP IT CONTRIBUTION AND AREAS OF EXPERTISE

  • Contribute to group-wide IT standards and improvement initiatives based on the needs of the organization and the candidate’s areas of strength
  • Develop into a group reference point for one or more IT areas of expertise, which may include Microsoft cloud, identity, endpoint management, infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, vendor management, business continuity, documentation, or acquisition integration
  • Share knowledge, procedures, lessons learned, and recommendations with other regional IT resources
  • Support the CIO in defining future group standards, checklists, playbooks, and technical practices
  • Take ownership of selected group initiatives where the candidate has strong experience or develops specific expertise

Qualifications

  • Experience as an IT Administrator, Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Lead, or hands-on IT lead
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, identity, licensing, and endpoint management
  • Experience supporting users directly in a small or mid-sized business environment
  • Experience supporting remote locations through vendors, remote tools, local contacts
  • Experience contributing to IT standards, documentation, procedures, checklists, or continuous improvement initiatives is an asset
  • Experience coordinating office moves, site openings, network changes, vendors, or infrastructure transitions is an asset
  • Experience in industrial services, manufacturing, engineering, field services, or multi-site environments is an asset

Ideal Profile

  • Hands-on, practical, independent, and resourceful
  • Comfortable acting as the main IT owner for the USA region, including both on-site and remote support responsibilities
  • Strong sense of ownership, follow-through, and service orientation
  • Able to prioritize between urgent user support, and longer-term improvement work
  • Good judgment on when to solve directly, when to involve a vendor, and when to escalate
  • Structured, documentation-focused, and comfortable building processes in an evolving environment
  • Able to work independently with limited local support while maintaining clear communication with the CIO, regional peers, vendors, and business users
  • Comfortable contributing beyond local operations by developing expertise and supporting group-wide IT improvement initiatives

Travel Requirements

This position is based in Rochester, New York. Very occasional travel may be required to Houston or other remote locations to support site reviews, operational activities, acquisitions, infrastructure assessments, and group IT coordination.
