Civil PE Manager – Land Development We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning, Development and Natural Resources team in the Raleigh & Charlotte, NC offices. This role leads land development design projects for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Candidate Location Requirement: Must currently reside in the greater Raleigh or Charlotte NC areas. What You Need BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with NC PE registration. 7–15+ years of experience in land development design for residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects. Strong relationships and knowledge of NC State and local permitting agencies. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard engineering design programs. Excellent presentation, technical writing and public speaking skills. Strong leadership, team building and communication abilities. Willingness to mentor and train junior engineers. Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle and criminal records. What Will Make You Stand Out Excellent understanding of all aspects of the consulting business, especially finance, business development, and contract negotiations. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Lead project management and design of land development, including permitting for water, sewer, grading, erosion control, and storm drainage. Conduct critical negotiations and handle complex technical & people assignments with sound judgment. Apply standard practices, develop new techniques, and implement improvements. Support business development: prepare proposals, lead presentations, develop scope of work, estimate time and manpower. Build and maintain client relationships; act as key contact for major clients. Lead and supervise project teams through all phases, ensuring completion of meetings, communication, budget monitoring, and A/R collections. Produce evaluations, reports, proposals, design drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals to grow the firm’s footprint.
