Registered Nurse - Operating Room

$2448.00/week –

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room setting. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes through comprehensive assessment, clinical proficiency, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough pre-operative assessments to evaluate patient condition and readiness for surgery.

• Demonstrate competent clinical skills by supporting patient care activities and operating within the surgical team.

• Accurately document patient information, care activities, and outcomes in accordance with policies and guidelines.

• Uphold professionalism by adhering to hospital policies, identifying areas for professional development, and demonstrating accountability.

• Respond professionally and courteously to patients, families, and team members, ensuring confidentiality and promoting patient satisfaction.

• Follow safety protocols by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals, utilizing universal protocols, and applying safe transfer techniques.

• Assess and manage surgical patients’ reactions and understanding of procedures, tailoring care accordingly.

• Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on evolving needs and clinical status.

• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and postoperative care, ensuring understanding and involvement.

• Support timely completion of patient testing and review pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness, considering patient specifics.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license required.

• Minimum of 1 year of recent perioperative or operating room experience.

• BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.

• Ability to perform pre- and post-operative assessments and support multidisciplinary care.

• Knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia types, and operative equipment.
