Sit-Down Forklift Operator

This role involves operating a propane or diesel sit-down forklift in an outdoor concrete yard to safely load and move heavy pallets onto trucks. The position combines skilled forklift operation with general labor tasks and a portion of customer service and basic computer work.

Responsibilities

• Operate a propane or diesel sit-down forklift to move and stack pallets in a concrete yard environment.
• Load pallets onto trucks, typically stacking two pallets at a time with a combined weight of approximately 5,000 pounds.
• Perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading pallets and other materials as required.
• Work safely and efficiently in an outdoor yard, maintaining awareness of surroundings and following all safety procedures.
• Complete general labor tasks associated with concrete yard operations as needed.
• Handle customer-facing interactions in a professional and courteous manner, providing customer service support on site.
• Perform basic computer work related to customer service, documentation, or order processing for approximately 2535% of daily duties.
• Inspect forklift and equipment before use and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in the yard and loading zones.

Essential Skills

• Considerable experience operating a sit-down forklift in an outdoor environment.
• Proficiency operating propane and diesel sit-down forklifts.
• Strong material handling skills, including safe loading and unloading of heavy pallets.
• Ability to work effectively in a concrete yard setting and handle general and skilled labor tasks.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Basic computer skills to perform customer service and documentation tasks for approximately 2535% of the role.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate heavy equipment with a strong focus on risk prevention.

Work Environment

The position is based in an outdoor concrete yard, working primarily outside in varying weather conditions. You will operate propane and diesel sit-down forklifts on a concrete surface and perform material handling and general labor tasks around trucks and pallet stacks. The work follows a weekday schedule, with operations typically running Monday through Friday between daytime hours. Attire should be practical and suitable for outdoor industrial work, including sturdy footwear and clothing appropriate for physical tasks and changing weather.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Littleton, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
