Controller

Our client is seeking a skilled professional to oversee and develop the Accounting and Finance function for one of their subsidiary companies. This role involves close collaboration with leadership and offers the opportunity to support accounting functions across sister entities. This is a temporary-to-permanent position with the potential for conversion based on performance.

Department and Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for running and developing the Accounting and Finance function of one of the subsidiary companies, as well as supporting the accounting functions of other sister entities. The role involves working very closely with the organization's leadership.

• Schedule: 7am to 4pm, 5 days on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive financial statements for service, maintenance, and project operations.
• Ensure adherence to US GAAP, industry regulations, and internal policies.
• Manage the general ledger and oversee month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate external audits and prepare relevant documentation.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for service departments.
• Analyze technician productivity, labor utilization, and service margins.
• Provide financial insights for pricing strategies and contract renewals.
• Oversee billing for various contract types and manage project compliance.
• Lead the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Business Central ERP.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for construction; manufacturing may also work.
• Hands-on full cycle accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Union Payroll exposure.
