Job Description:

Are you a seasoned pro in the building trades looking to share your skills and experience? Alfred State's Building Trades Department is hiring a hands-on instructor for our AOS degree program, starting Fall 2026.

What You'll Do:
  • Teach students the real-world skills they need for success in carpentry, construction, and building trades.
  • Get hands-on! You'll lead both classroom instruction and on-site training at campus and off campus build sites.
  • Shape the future of the trade by mentoring students, developing curriculum, and keeping strong industry connections.
  • Be part of the Alfred State community, advising students, recruiting future tradespeople, and serving on college committees.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in the building trades
  • Strong knowledge of building construction theories and residential construction, including:
    • Foundation and concrete work
    • Framing, roofing, interior and exterior finishes
    • Doors, trim, cabinetry, and light commercial construction
  • Valid Class D driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Teaching experience in a technical or trade environment
  • OSHA 10 certification

The salary for this position is $50,000 .
