Job Description

As a Security Guard - Detention Center in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic public sector location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. In this role, you will help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, integrity, and a people-first culture.

Pay Rate: $17.95 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns according to site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and routine observations as directed by site-specific policies.
• Work in environments and conditions that may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Security experience of 2+ years is required.
• Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
