Travel Dental Hygienist

Location: Columbia, SC
Job Type: Travel Contract / Local
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Day Shift
Weekly Hours: 39 hours
Travel Gross Weekly Pay: $1,900–$2,000/week, based on experience
Local Pay: $40–$44/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Weekends: None
Holidays: Closed on major holidays

• Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
• Friday: 7:30 AM–12:30 PM
• Total: 39 hours/week

We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene services, patient education, and clinical support in a professional dental care environment.

The Dental Hygienist will perform routine dental prophylaxis, assess and document oral health conditions, provide oral hygiene and nutritional counseling, obtain dental radiographs, and maintain accurate electronic patient records.

• Perform routine dental prophylaxis .
• Remove hard and soft deposits and stains from tooth surfaces.
• Polish all tooth surfaces.
• Apply topical fluoride treatments.
• Expose and develop dental radiographs.
• Provide comprehensive oral hygiene instruction and patient counseling.
• Provide nutrition and dietary counseling related to oral health.
• Review and document medical and dental health histories.
• Take and record patient blood pressure.
• Chart dental disease and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Make and confirm patient appointments as needed.
• Provide patient education regarding preventive dental care.
• Assist with training dental hygiene students with minimal supervision.
• Use Epic Wisdom for clinical charting and charge entry.
• Follow applicable clinical procedures, safety standards, and organizational policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards of care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene required.

• Active South Carolina Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license required.

• No prior experience required.
• 1 year of dental hygiene experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and preventive oral care.
• Excellent patient education and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, dental professionals, and students.
• Experience with electronic dental records preferred.
• Epic Wisdom experience preferred.

• 13-week assignment
• 39 hours per week
• Monday–Friday
• No weekend requirement
