Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist – Neuro IR

Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, Days
Additional Requirements: Weekends, holidays, on-call/callback as required by unit needs
Experience: Minimum 2 years
Location: Rochester, NY

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience .
• New York State Radiologic Technologist license required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only .
• Experience with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Strong patient-care, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work a 4x10-hour day shift schedule , including weekends, holidays, and on-call/callback assignments as required by the unit.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in selecting appropriate exposure factors and positioning patients to consistently produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images.
• Assist radiologists and other physicians during interventional radiology and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Prepare and instruct patients regarding radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations and procedures.
• Administer oral contrast when required for examinations.
• Operate and demonstrate proficiency with X-ray, fluoroscopy, CR, and DR systems.

• Identify and report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead technologist.

   

Candidates coming from other radiologic modalities may be considered, as the department typically provides up to six months of training for qualified Radiologic Technologists transitioning into Neuro IR.
