Location and Compensation Location: Beverly Hills, CA; La Jolla, San Diego, CA; Piedmont, CA; South Bay (LA), CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available) Salary: $200,000 per year, paid weekly Benefits: Health, dental and vision coverage from day one Job Summary The role is for a Coaching Manager who will mentor a cohort of K-8 students and lead Guides to ensure students develop a love for school, accelerate learning at double speed, and acquire authentic life skills. The manager will also build a new campus from the ground up or take over operations, fostering a culture of high standards and data‑driven improvement. What You Will Be Doing Facilitate one‑hour live life skills and social‑emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K‑8 students using Alpha’s established playbook. Conduct daily motivational sessions to ensure 100% of students reach weekly app targets through age‑appropriate incentives such as school currency and leaderboards. Develop Guides through observation, focused feedback and direct training so they execute workshops with the same enthusiasm and accuracy you demonstrate. Analyze Coachbot data and student profiles to identify students who require intervention and provide personal support. Mentor your own student cohort, exemplifying the coaching and motivational techniques expected from every Guide. What You Won’t Be Doing Creating lesson plans or building curriculum; students progress through adaptive apps. Delivering traditional lectures to a classroom; the role is primarily hands‑on coaching. Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administrators. Working from an office reviewing documents; majority of time is spent directly with students and Guides. Waiting for performance evaluations; data is real‑time and adjustments are immediate. Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha’s three promises for each cohort and among Guides: students love school, accelerate learning at 2x speed, and develop authentic life skills. Basic Requirements Currently located in or willing to relocate to one of the listed locations. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred; teaching credentials not required). Minimum 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or related field. Proven experience developing and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives. History managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including hiring and performance‑based termination decisions. Experience providing coaching, mentorship, or constructive feedback to enhance engagement and performance. Background working with youth ages 5–14 in an educational or developmental context. Skilled in leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions and support continuous improvement. Authorized to work legally in the United States. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or Business. Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program leader with quantifiable goal achievement. History coaching adults in performance‑monitored positions. Confidence performing before large groups of children.
