Schedule: Full-Time | Days | No Weekends
Salary: $150,000 – $184,745/Year (Based on Experience)
Incentive Bonus: Up to 17.5%
Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis
We are seeking an experienced and metrics-driven Director of Emergency Services to lead a high-volume, Level I Trauma Emergency Department in a premier tertiary care facility. This role carries full strategic, operational, financial, and clinical accountability for a 100-bed ED managing approximately 350 patients per day, supported by 200+ FTEs and multiple clinical managers.
The ideal candidate will bring strong executive-level leadership experience in large trauma systems, with a proven ability to drive patient throughput, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and workforce stability.
Core ResponsibilitiesProvide 24/7 strategic leadership and operational oversight of Emergency Services.
Manage ED throughput, capacity planning, and volume forecasting in a high-acuity environment.
Lead quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives using evidence-based practices.
Ensure strict compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
Oversee large-scale departmental budgeting, labor management, and cost controls.
Drive workforce engagement, retention, and leadership development within a unionized environment.
Collaborate with executive leadership and medical staff on service line growth and innovation.
Maintain operational alignment with hospital mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Master’s degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related) preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of Emergency Services clinical experience.
3–5+ years of Director-level leadership in a high-volume Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
Proven expertise in regulatory compliance and healthcare operations.
Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
Experience working in large, complex, and high-acuity ED environments.
Stable work history required (no frequent short-term roles).
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
