A Day in the Life As a Placement Client Manager on the Transportation team, you will: Engage in new and renewal strategy meetings with service teams and producers and lead discussions on placement plans. Attend placement strategy meetings for new business with producers and selected service teams. Spearhead renewal and new business placement efforts by gathering underwriting information. Present submissions to underwriters, including timetable requirements and target pricing. Negotiate best terms, conditions, and pricing. Review quotes for accuracy and compliance. Assist in the review and preparation of proposals. Adhere to all Agency service standards. Develop and cultivate relationships with producers, underwriters, and wholesale brokers. Continuously pursue personal education of the insurance industry and related coverages. Complete other projects and assignments as directed by management. Demonstrate flexibility with work hours as necessary. Our Future Colleague We value candidates with the following skills and experience: Basic reading, writing, and math skills; high school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years of commercial insurance account management or placement experience; transportation industry experience preferred. Ability to obtain Property Casualty and Life & Health resident and nonresident agency/broker licenses within 6 months of hire, and comply with continuing education. Working knowledge of a wide array of insurance coverage, policy terms, and conditions, including workers’ compensation, general and automobile liability, marine, cargo, and property. Accuracy in processing detailed records according to established procedures. Effective communication with clients and colleagues via telephone and in person. Strong attention to extended periods of concentration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook; EPIC system knowledge a plus. Aptitude for flexibility, multi-tasking, and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Good judgment and discretion. Collaborative work ethic. Availability for overnight travel as needed.
