BASIC FUNCTIONBased at our Arizona production facility, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant processing equipment.This role supports a high-performing team operating in a mineral transformation environment producing materials for industrial, food-grade, and pharmaceutical applications. The position requires strong mechanical expertise, versatility, and hands-on experience across rotating equipment, pneumatic systems, and packaging operations within a heavy industrial setting.RESPONSIBILITIESInspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment across the plant, including conveyors, blowers, gearboxes, centrifuges, and material handling systemsPerform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtimeExecute advanced mechanical rebuilds and equipment retrofits, including alignment, installation, and fabrication workSupport operations involving pneumatic conveying systems, packaging equipment, and bulk material processingRead and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to assemble and disassemble equipmentUse the plant maintenance system to manage work orders, track progress, and document completed work accuratelyCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure parts availabilitySupport external contractors and equipment suppliers during inspections, repairs, and maintenance projectsSafely operate mobile equipment and lifting devices in accordance with site proceduresRespond to equipment breakdowns, including outside regular working hours as required, ensuring timely and effective resolutionMaintain clean, safe, and organized work areas at all timesHealth, Safety, Environment and QualityPerform all work in compliance with health and safety standards, environmental requirements, and quality systemsContribute to a strong safety culture with a focus on hazard identification and risk preventionEnsure compliance with applicable standards supporting the production of industrial, food-grade, and pharmaceutical productsQUALIFICATIONSEducationPost-secondary training in mechanical maintenance, industrial mechanics, or a related skilled trade (trade school, technical college, or apprenticeship) strongly preferredRelevant certifications in industrial maintenance, millwright, or similar trades considered an assetExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenanceExperience in heavy industrial environments such as mining, mineral processing, cement, or manufacturing preferredProven experience with pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and bulk material handlingExperience with packaging equipment and automated production lines is an assetKnowledge and SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting and repair capabilitiesExperience in maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, and drive systemsGood understanding of pneumatic conveying systems and industrial processing equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical schematicsBasic fabrication and welding capabilities considered an assetAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively across departmentsWorking ConditionsIndustrial plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, and varying temperaturesRegular standing, walking, climbing, and manual handlingAbility to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasksWHY JOIN OMYAWork in a stable, global company specializing in mineral transformationBe part of a high-standard production environment supporting food, pharmaceutical, and industrial marketsJoin a team of experienced professionals with strong expertise in processing, and industrial maintenanceOpportunities for skill development, cross-training, and career growth#LI-DNI #J-18808-Ljbffr
