Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy Experience in physical therapy (new graduates welcome) Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy to help patients recover and become independent. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, examinations, and history to identify treatment needs. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate and maintain specialized physical therapy equipment safely. Assess progress, adjust plans, and document evaluations in the medical record. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals for coordinated care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety guidelines. Engage in quality assurance and professional development activities. Assist in discharge planning for smooth transitions. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. English language proficiency for reading, writing, and communication. Ability to read and follow written instructions, verbal directions, and proficiency with PC skills. Physical Abilities – remain stationary, move, lift 50–100 lbs, push, pull, bend. Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude. Technical/Motor Skills – grasp, fine manipulation, push/pull while assisting with procedures. Mental Requirements – cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently when needed. Sensory – possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
