Summary

As an Activities Director at Aristocrat Berea Healthcare & Rehabilitation, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities and therapeutic recreation program designed around each resident's interests, physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Looking for someone who is organized, excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment collaborating with residents, families, staff, visitors, and vendors. Able to lead, hire, schedule, orient, evaluate and support Activity Aides and volunteers.

This position is essential in creating a vibrant community atmosphere where residents feel valued and connected.

Minimum starting salary for the position is $42,000 annually; salary is negotiable based on experience.

The typical schedule for this opportunity is Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Start and end times are flexible based on community need.

This position is a part of the community management team and will take part in the manager on duty weekend coverage rotation.

Requirements

Requirements

o Experience in long-term care or assisted living environments preferred.

o Comfortable working with Mental Health population.

o Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and staff.

o Ability to develop creative recreational programs that meet diverse needs.

o Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with time management, prioritization, and problem solving abilities.

o Compassionate approach to working with individuals with disabilities or health challenges.

o Develop and implement engaging activity programs tailored to the needs of residents.

o Coordinate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.

o Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents.

o Assess individual resident interests and preferences to personalize activity plans.

o Facilitate group activities that encourage social interaction and community building.

o Maintain records of participation and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.

o Communicate regularly with families regarding resident participation and progress

Qualifications

o • Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by the state and eligible for certification; OR

o • At least 2 years of social/recreation program experience within the last 5 years, including 1 year full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting; OR

o • Qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; OR

o • Completion of a training course approved by the state.
