The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families across all ages, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. This role involves assessing patient needs, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical exams and obtain patient histories
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate
- Educate patients on health management and disease prevention
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Provide counseling and support to patients and their families
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years in family nursing practice
