Job Summary:

Position Title: Technician Sterile Processing

Location: Portland, OR 97216

Duration: 13 weeks (Possible extension)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Pay rate : $36.00 - $40.00 /hr..



Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Decontaminate, inspect, clean, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Compile instrument sets, count instruments, and maintain accurate processing records.
• Operate steam sterilizers and other sterilization equipment using appropriate exposure and drying parameters.
• Prepare instruments for immediate-use sterilization when required.
• Perform biological and diagnostic testing on sterilization equipment and maintain related logs.
• Evaluate instruments for cleanliness, function, and safety prior to redistribution.
• Assist with operating room turnover, terminal cleaning activities, and sterile supply support as needed.
• Support case cart preparation and instrument selection for upcoming procedures.
• Process instruments for ancillary departments including Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Radiology.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterile processing environment.
• Track and document loaner instruments and sterilization activities in accordance with facility policy.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards at all times.
• Perform additional sterile processing duties as assigned under the direction of perioperative leadership.

To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Technical Degree preferred.
• Recent hospital or acute-care sterile processing experience preferred.
• Sterile Processing Technician certification (CRCST/CSPDT or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience with decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, biological monitoring, and OR support required.
• Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization standards, and instrument reprocessing workflows.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and quality assurance records.
• EPIC experience required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
• Flexibility to work the facility's variable evening schedule as required.
