James Island ER Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN

HCA Healthcare is seeking a James Island ER Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and support high-quality, patient-centered emergency care. Based in our James Island emergency department, this registered nurse leader will coordinate daily clinical operations, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow and excellent clinical outcomes in a fast-paced environment. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator functions as both a hands-on ER nurse and a frontline leader, serving as a clinical resource for staff, supporting complex patient care, and modeling the standards of compassion, integrity, and teamwork that define HCA Healthcare’s culture.

In this role, you will provide direct emergency nursing care, including triage, rapid patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and support during critical procedures and resuscitations. You will help prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients, working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the broader interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, communicate changes in patient status, and support timely admission, transfer, or discharge decisions. As a clinical coordinator, you will assist with nurse assignments, monitor workloads, and adjust staffing as needed to balance patient acuity and nurse competency.

The James Island ER Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN plays a key part in mentoring and supporting nursing staff, including precepting new team members, reinforcing evidence-based practice, and encouraging continuous learning and professional growth. You will promote a culture of safety and accountability by supporting quality improvement projects, participating in performance reviews and incident follow-up, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, EMTALA requirements, Joint Commission standards, and other regulatory guidelines.
