Pharmacy Technician

This is an agency request for retail pharmacy technician to support the retail pharmacy located at SAMC. OSF ITEMS OF NOTE: Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-# to regular and OT bill rates) OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION: Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN Clinician's middle initial Requested time off Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for assisting Pharmacists in processing provider medication orders utilizing prescribed procedures under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties. At least 1 year of experience REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED, At least 18 years of age Experience: N/A Licensure/ Certification: PHTC-Pharmacy Tech, PHCT2 - Pharmacy Tech Certification, Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification, or Active Pharmacy student with Pharmacy Technician (PHTC) student license Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: N/A Experience: 1 year pharmacy experience Licensure/ Certification: N/A Other Skills/ Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations. Intermediate computer skills.
