Job Information Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Shift: Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays (United States) Pay Range: $24.50 – $33.75 (actual pay rate depends on experience) Position Highlights This position floats to all of Behavioral Health Inpatient units, The Link, BHS Urgent Care, and Behavioral Health Adolescent Addiction Unit. Key Opportunities Experience a variety of inpatient settings Work with staff from many areas Average LPN to patient ratio of 7–8 100% self‑schedule Eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program: each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) to help pay down the principal balance faster Varied shifts: 72 hours per 2 weeks; every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday rotation A Brief Overview The LPN practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. The LPN organizes and directs those aspects of care for which they are accountable; communicating and coordinating care with well‑defined nursing diagnoses, and including all health team members. What You Will Do Collect data and conduct a focused nursing assessment of the health status of a patient Participate with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient‑centered health care plan Implement nursing interventions within a patient‑centered health care plan Assist in the evaluation of responses to interventions Provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly Advocate for the best interest of the patient Communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the health care team Assist with health counseling and teaching Delegate and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Education, License, Certification or Work Experience Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Board of Nursing. An active license in the state of practice upon hire.
