Full-Time Occupational Therapist

Elderwood at Wheatfield is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Occupational Therapist to join our growing team of rehabilitation professionals. Position Overview: Occupational Therapy staff members play a vital role in ensuring the health, well-being, and quality of life of our residents. In this position, you will provide comprehensive, individualized therapy services focused on restoring function, promoting independence, and enhancing overall quality of life. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for administering skilled therapy treatments while maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans based on their unique needs and goals
• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, and cognitive function
• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy team members, and families to support coordinated care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility policies and state/federal regulations
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and strategies to support continued progress
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive therapy environment

Qualifications:

• Current Occupational Therapy license in New York State required
• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting is preferred, but not required
