Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Float Pool

Schedule

This is a 3x12-hour night shift position from 19:00 to 07:30.

Job Description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work within a float pool, supporting various units including Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC), Long-Term Care (LTC), skilled nursing, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, locked Behavioral Health, rehabilitation, and Stepdown/PCU units. Candidates must be comfortable caring for both medical and Behavioral Health patient populations. Assignments are based on patient acuity and staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a fast-paced environment, addressing high complexity of needs.
• Support medical and Behavioral Health patients with various diagnoses.
• Administer medications, monitor vitals, and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Implement behavior management techniques for patients with mental health disorders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, pharmacy, and social services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of LVN/LPN experience is required; LTAC experience is preferred.
• Active Maryland LVN/LPN license required upon submission.
• BLS certification is required.
• Behavioral Health experience is essential, including care for degenerative disorders and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.
