Head of Technology

We are looking for a Head of Technology (known internally as Technology Partner) to join our team! Reporting to the Director of Technology, you’ll act as the dedicated technology lead for Travelopia’s Le Boat brand , Europe and Canada’s leading self-drive boating holiday company, with a fleet of 950+ boats across 37 bases. As a member of Le Boat’s leadership team, you’ll take ownership of the brand’s tech-enabled transformation and AI agenda, connecting its business strategy with Travelopia’s technology capabilities to drive performance, enhance the customer experience and improve colleague productivity.

With a geographically dispersed, operationally driven business, reliable and effective technology is essential to Le Boat’s success. This is a hands-on, business-facing role where you’ll partner exclusively with Le Boat, working closely with teams across the business, particularly Operations and Tech Help, to understand challenges and translate business needs into practical solutions alongside technology squads. You’ll also champion the use of AI to transform how the business operates and delivers, while contributing to Travelopia’s wider Technology Partner team and Technology Senior Leadership Team.

What you’ll do:

Partner with Le Boat

• Be the trusted technology partner and primary point of contact for the Le Boat leadership team.
• Build a deep understanding of the business, its customers, commercial model, operations and how work gets done.
• Translate Le Boat’s strategy into an outcome-led technology roadmap, aligned with Travelopia’s wider technology direction.
• Represent Le Boat within Technology, while challenging the business to simplify, standardise and invest where value is greatest.

Keep operations running smoothly

• Work closely with Operations teams across our European and Canadian bases to understand operational needs and seasonal demands.
• Partner with the Tech Help team to resolve issues quickly and address recurring problems at source.
• Lead escalations for significant technology issues, ensuring clear ownership and resolution.
• Ensure technology is reliable, fit for purpose and effective in the base environment, supporting a seamless customer journey from booking to return.

Lead AI across Le Boat

• Champion and lead Le Boat’s AI agenda, setting the ambition and roadmap in partnership with the leadership team.
• Embed AI into product and engineering workflows to boost productivity and accelerate delivery.
• Identify and deliver AI and automation opportunities across back-office functions.
• Build AI capability by developing internal champions who embed new ways of working.
• Run focused pilots, scale successful solutions and ensure responsible adoption in line with Travelopia standards.

Deliver products and change

• Partner with Travelopia’s product, engineering, data, platform and security teams to deliver clear customer, colleague and commercial outcomes.
• Prioritise effectively, balancing business value, delivery speed, risk and cost.
• Guide solutions from discovery through adoption, ensuring they work in Le Boat’s operational environment and become part of day-to-day work.
• Embed change management from the outset and track adoption and benefits beyond go-live.

Govern and contribute

• Lead technology investment planning and delivery across capital and operating expenditure, backed by robust business cases and financial control.
• Maintain transparent portfolio governance, reporting on delivery, business value, spend and risk.
• Simplify and modernise Le Boat’s technology landscape, championing cyber security, resilience and data governance.
• Contribute to Travelopia’s Technology Senior Leadership Team and Technology Partner community, sharing best practice and scaling successful approaches across the group.

What you’ll bring:

• Broad technology leadership experience spanning digital products, applications, data, platforms and service delivery.
• Experience supporting an operationally intensive, multi-site business, working closely with operational teams and IT support.
• Strong commercial judgement, connecting business strategy, customer needs and operational realities to technology decisions.
• Practical experience applying AI and automation, including AI-assisted product and engineering delivery and building team capability.
• A track record of leading change and driving technology adoption in agile, product-led environments, with a focus on measurable business benefits, alongside experience managing budgets and portfolio governance.
• Credibility with senior leaders and frontline teams, combining collaboration and humility with the confidence to challenge, influence and take ownership.
