Laser Operator

Laser OperatorG.D. Roberts & Co., Inc. is looking for a Laser Operator to join our Production team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting equipment to produce quality metal parts according to specifications. What You'll DoSet up and operate laser cutting equipment for metal cuttingFollow proper machine start-up and shut-down proceduresMonitor cutting performance and make adjustments as neededPerform quality inspections to ensure parts meet specificationsTransfer files from Engineering to the laser programSort and stack parts and materials as neededPerform lens adjustments when requiredUse a forklift, pallet jack, crane, and hoist to move materialsRead and understand prints, process sheets, nesting paperwork, and other production documentsFollow company procedures and the Business Management SystemPerform other duties as assignedWhy Join G.D. Production team!RequirementsWhat We're Looking ForGeneral manufacturing experience, preferably with sheet metalBasic math and computer skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to use basic hand and power toolsFamiliarity with a tape measure and caliperAbility to understand prints and production documentsGeneral to intermediate mechanical aptitudeAbility to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing environmentPhysical Requirements & Work Environment Required:Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and crouchingFrequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.Working around laser sparks, dust, smoke, and flashExposure to oils and solvents on products and materialsWorking around sharp edges on parts and materialsWorking around forklift traffic
