Infant Care Specialist

About the Role Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Infant Care Specialist to provide exceptional care for babies and very young children at their centre in East London . This role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the rapid developmental needs of infants. You will be responsible for feeding, hygiene, sleep routines, and age-appropriate sensory and motor activities that promote healthy growth. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of infant development, a gentle demeanor, and a commitment to building secure attachments with the children and fostering positive relationships with their families in the Eastern Cape community. This position is key to ensuring the highest standards of care for the youngest learners. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision for infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Implement individualized feeding, sleeping, and changing routines according to each child's needs. Engage infants in age-appropriate activities that stimulate sensory exploration, motor skills, and early cognitive development. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized environment for infants. Observe and document infant development, health, and behavior, communicating any concerns to parents and management. Build positive and trusting relationships with infants and their families. Requirements Proven experience working with infants and toddlers in a professional childcare setting. Strong knowledge of infant development, health, and safety practices. Certification in Infant and Child First Aid and CPR required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
