Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery in the OR.
- Prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, position patients, and ensure all instrumentation and equipment are ready for case needs.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, administer medications as permitted, and support the anesthesia team.
- Maintain patient safety and aseptic environment; document intraoperative events and interventions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, circulating nurses, and scrub techs; anticipate needs and communicate effectively.
- May assume duties as a charge nurse when needed; demonstrate leadership, prioritization, and delegation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of OR/ASU equipment, lethal rhythm interpretation, and safe patient handling practices.

Requirements
- Current New York State RN license (active)
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- OR nursing experience preferred; strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced OR/ASU setting; knowledge of sterile technique and clinical equipment
- Must be able to perform lifting and safe patient handling; on-call availability with 30-minute response time
