We are seeking a versatile Mainframe Programmer to bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern cloud data platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining core mainframe applications while leading data modernization efforts by migrating and transforming mainframe data into Snowflake using dbt .

This role is responsible for maintaining core mainframe applications while leading data modernization efforts by migrating and transforming mainframe data into Snowflake using dbt .
Key Responsibilities
- Mainframe Development: Design, code, and test applications using COBOL , JCL , and DB2 .
- Data Modernization: Develop and optimize data pipelines to extract mainframe data for ingestion into the Snowflake cloud data platform.
- Data Transformation: Use dbt (data build tool) to build, document, and maintain modular transformation models within Snowflake.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize both legacy batch processes and modern Snowflake queries to ensure efficient data processing.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate legacy business logic into modern data architectures.
- Mainframe Expertise: 5+ years of experience with IBM Mainframe systems, specifically COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Modern Data Stack: Hands-on experience with Snowflake (architecture, tasks, and streams) and dbt for ELT/ETL processes.
- SQL Proficiency: Expert-level SQL skills for complex data querying and transformation.
- Location: Ability to work onsite in Cincinnati, OH.
- Experience with mainframe integration tools (e.g., ChangeMan, File-Aid).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD workflows for data.
- Relevant certifications such as SnowPro Core or dbt Certification .
