Equipment Diesel Technician – Keep Greensboro Moving!

Are you an experienced technician with a passion for keeping heavy trucks and equipment running safely and efficiently? The City of Greensboro is looking for a skilled Equipment Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy trucks and truck-mounted equipment. If you thrive in a hands-on environment and take pride in quality workmanship, we want you on our team! Compensation and Benefits: Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $45,017.00 - $63,379.00 Full Salary Range: $45,017.00 - $86,195.00 Annually This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. The Hiring salary range and Full Salary range can vary depending on the job grade level of the position, experience, and ASE certifications. Work Schedule Second Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am OR Second Shift Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm - 1:00 am OR Second Shift Tuesday-Friday 2:30 pm - 1:00 am

About the Role

Diagnose and perform minor and major repairs on heavy trucks and equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
Follow strict safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Work in varying conditions, including dust, grease, noise, heat, cold, and inclement weather.

What We're Looking For

Four years of journey-level experience in heavy truck and equipment repair.
Current possession of or ability to obtain within six months: Class A CDL License with Tanker Endorsement, NC Emission/Safety Inspection License, Air Conditioning Recovery Certification.
Physical ability to perform job duties, including walking, stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must have own tools.
