THE ROLE As a Staff / Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day accounting operations and owning key components of the month‑end close for our US subsidiary. This role has a strong focus on balance sheet integrity, expense management, and financial reporting. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financials, while partnering cross‑functionally to support the broader finance function. A DAY IN THE LIFE Own key components of the month‑end close, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations (cash, prepaids, accruals, and other key accounts), ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items Perform bank and cash reconciliations across multiple accounts Manage overhead accounting, including expense review and monthly analysis of spend vs. expectations Process and review employee expense reports and corporate card activity, ensuring compliance with company policies Prepare payroll‑related journal entries, including allocations and recharge entries Maintain prepaid and accrual schedules, including amortization and tracking of ongoing balances Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals Assist with ad‑hoc reporting and analysis requests from finance leadership Provide support for annual audits, including preparation of supporting documentation Contribute to process improvements and enhancements to strengthen controls and efficiency Handle special projects and other ad‑hoc tasks as needed WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Self‑motivated with a positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to get into the detail Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial impact on the business Strong written and verbal communication skills Proactive, hands‑on approach with a willingness to take ownership Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the business Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams CPA preferred 3‑5 years relevant accounting experience Strong understanding of month‑end close and balance sheet reconciliation processes High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines AS WELL AS Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field Experience working in a multi‑entity environment preferred Experience with accruals, prepaids, and general ledger accounting Familiarity with expense management tools and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred but not essential) Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to investigate variances Experience in the media or agency sector preferred but not essential *Dependent upon experience, the salary for this role can range from $70,000-$80,000* Talon is an equal opportunities employer.
