We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to support seasonal tax operations in Howell, Michigan through a Long-term Contract assignment. This position focuses on preparing tax filings, reviewing returns for completeness and accuracy, and helping finalize work during peak filing periods. The assignment may extend into May based on business needs.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare individual income tax returns with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with current tax regulations.
• Examine completed tax documents to confirm that supporting information is complete, calculations are correct, and filings are ready for submission.
• Resolve missing details or inconsistencies by organizing return data and ensuring each file is properly completed before final review.
• Assist with end-of-cycle wrap-up activities following key filing deadlines to help close out seasonal workloads efficiently.
• Handle more involved tax scenarios by applying sound judgment to complex individual return preparation.
• Maintain organized records and clear documentation to support a smooth preparation and review process.• Experience preparing individual tax returns in a tax, accounting, or financial setting with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work on complex tax return assignments with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of tax documentation, return review practices, and file completeness standards.
• Skill in identifying discrepancies, missing information, and calculation issues before submission.
• Capacity to manage deadlines effectively during high-volume seasonal periods.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently while supporting a broader tax team.
