Bachelor of Science in Nursing with school nurse certification. Preferred: National School Nurse Certification. Supplemental Pay $4,000 per year Responsibilities Act as a liaison between the West Virginia Department of Education and the county nursing department. Oversee the county's health policy and procedures. Serve as the county contact for communicable disease control. Coordinate and facilitate county-level health screenings. Coordinate county-level CPR, First Aid, AED, and medication training. Serve as point of contact for district-level administrators on the county's health policy and procedures. Provide essential information to school-level administrators. Provide essential information to school nurses. Coordinate support for newly hired school nurses. Collaborate with the attendance and callout system secretary on staffing, including absences and field trips. Coordinate in‑service training for school nurses. Coordinate school nurse meetings. Review, align, and update all school health forms across the county, as needed. Participate in the interviews for vacant RN, LPN, and substitute RN and LPN positions. Collaborate with supervisors regarding Medicaid billing for students identified under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Collect information and data from other school nurses, as needed. Collaborate with the safety director for emergency response and preparedness planning. Report to the Director of School Safety. Report to the Director of Special Education. Ensure that the school's health policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local standards.
