Radiology - CT Tech

CT TechnologistUnder the general direction of the Manager of Radiology and immediate supervision of the Lead Technologist, the CT Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level that does not require direct supervision. The CT Technologist conducts all general diagnostic radiographic exams and CT exams, assumes responsibility for designated areas, and operates CT and X-ray equipment. Additional responsibilities include preparing and administering contrast media, performing intravenous contrast injections, and ensuring quality control in accordance with established standards and policies.ResponsibilitiesPerform imaging procedures for diagnostic and CT examinations.Operate and maintain CT and X-ray equipment.Prepare and administer contrast media, and perform intravenous contrast injections.Ensure compliance with quality control and safety standards.Support and contribute to the service excellence mission of the organization.Education / Training / ExperienceDesired qualifications include:Two years of experience in diagnostic radiography.One year of experience in CT imaging.Licenses / CertificationsMinimum requirements:Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California.Approved CPR certification.ARRT and Fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within six months of hire.Desired certifications include:Current Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification.Current license issued by ARRT.Radiologic Technologist fluoroscopy permit issued by the State of California.Advanced certification in CT.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesApplicants should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of human anatomy, patient care, positioning, and radiographic exposure principles. Critical thinking and communication skills are essential.
