We're looking to add an Estimator or Associate Estimator to our team.Ideal candidates for the Estimator role will have experience estimating projects in transmission & distribution, utility, or commercial electrical markets.We also welcome Associate Estimator applicants. Our specialized expertise, skilled workforce, and innovative practices enable us to be an industry leader supporting the clean energy transformation.Essential FunctionsAbide by estimating processWork with the Estimating Coordinator to upload project documents to ShareFile for vendors/subcontractorsReview all contract documents to become familiar with project requirements and obligations under the contract and apply to pricing (schedule, specifications, drawings, safety manual, etc.), reviewing documents for accuracy and consistencyWork with the Estimating Coordinator to submit RFIs for estimating questions by deadline.Perform take-off and material take-off where applicableObtain vendor and subcontractor quotes and evaluate for completeness and best price for use in bid.Distribute qualification documents as required for the bid (MBE, WBE, experience, key individuals, etc.)Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders. Setup all corporate reviews and lead discussionPrepare and/or provide input for customer required deliverables (schedule, proposal letter, etc.)Prepare award documents for review to be submitted by the deadlineIdentify areas of importance (milestones, LDs, etc.) of a project and relay to PM and/or Regional DirectorIdentify possible change orders and relay to PMReview purchase orders, subcontracts, and contracts for accuracyFacilitate a scope review with the PM; assist construction personnel in understanding basis and approach to the cost estimateParticipate in KOM to handoff project to project managementCore CompetenciesStrong communication, organization, analytical, leadership and relationship skillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6Ability to handle multiple talks and work under pressureSelf-starter able to work with minimal supervisionAbout YouQualificationsAbility to understand, and/or possess basic knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and servicesPreferred EducationHigh school diploma or GED is requiredWhat We OfferCompensation & BenefitsSalary: Commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
