Adult Education Adjunct - HVAC Job ID: 5324935 Application Deadline: Open until filled Position Type: Part-time (up to 28 hours per week) Location: Warren County Career Center – Adult Education, Main Campus, Lebanon, Ohio General Job Description: HVAC Instructors are subject matter experts that provide classroom and laboratory instruction in various HVAC courses as part of an approved training and education curriculum by NCCER, providing a talent pipeline of individuals seeking to work in the HVAC Industry. Responsibilities: Designs meaningful and sequential instruction with relevant learning activities to meet course objectives Teaches curriculum designed by NCCER Ensures specific skills related to HVAC work are developed Demonstrates the proper use of equipment and tools Assists students with certification assessment preparation Revise courses in conjunction with the Coordinator of Advanced Manufacturing to stay up-to-date with advances in the industry Promotes the program and recruits students through a variety of activities Adheres to all safety standards and industry practices and is responsible for the care and maintenance of classroom and laboratory facilities, equipment, and materials Works with program advisory committee to advance program innovations, evaluate the significance of emerging technology, create opportunities for students, and ensure program standards and activities are relevant to the needs of business and industry Fosters and builds relationships with other programs and instructors as well as with industry leaders and employers in the community Helps to build awareness and understanding of the HVAC program among vendors, suppliers, builders, and residential and commercial contractors and companies to improve student job placement Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: A love for teaching and strong interest in changing students’ lives Verifiable experience as a lead service technician and/or service manager Five years of recent HVAC experience in residential and commercial settings Previous teaching experience is preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Valid Licensure/Permit by the Ohio Department of Education as an Adult Education Instructor (or willingness to obtain credential) Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment and is able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check after job offer Maintains compliance with Board policies and other applicable procedures/guidelines Salary: $31.08 per hour How to apply: Please apply online through the Greater Cincinnati School Application Consortium.
