Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Construction Health & Safety Lead with a strong track record in delivering health and safety leadership across major infrastructure programmes? You will lead the development and implementation of health and safety strategies across nationally significant D&B infrastructure projects in Ireland including metro, aviation, rail, water and highway schemes. Join our Project & Programme Management team and help close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new role As Construction Health & Safety Lead, you will be responsible for leading all health and safety activities across major infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will establish and drive a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and industry best practice across all phases of delivery. You will act as the primary health and safety advisor to project leadership, working closely with contractors, designers and stakeholders to ensure risks are effectively managed and that safe systems of work are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.Working pattern Hybrid role requiring office and site attendance as required, with a majority of projects delivered in and around Dublin.Your key responsibilities will be:Leading the development and implementation of project-wide health and safety strategies, plans and proceduresEnsuring compliance with health and safety legislation, regulations and project-specific requirementsActing as the key health and safety advisor to project teams, providing expert guidance and supportMonitoring contractor health and safety performance through audits, inspections and reportingReviewing and approving risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plansPromoting a strong safety culture and behavioural safety approach across all project activitiesIdentifying, assessing and mitigating health and safety risks throughout design and construction phasesSupporting the integration of health and safety considerations into design (e.g. design risk management / CDM principles)Leading incident investigation processes and ensuring lessons learned are implementedCoordinating with stakeholders, regulators and third parties on health and safety mattersEnsuring effective reporting, governance and assurance of health and safety performanceDriving continuous improvement and adoption of best practice in health and safety managementAbout youSignificant experience in construction health and safety roles on major infrastructure or construction projects (e.g. metro, aviation, rail, water and highways schemes)Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements (Ireland or comparable jurisdictions)Proven ability to lead health and safety across complex, multi-disciplinary project environmentsExperience working with contractors to manage and improve health and safety performance on siteStrong understanding of construction processes, risks and safe systems of workExperience in undertaking audits, inspections and incident investigationsAbility to influence, challenge and engage stakeholders at all levels to drive safety outcomesExcellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and collaborative approachExperience supporting design-stage health and safety risk managementProactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentDegree or equivalent qualification in health and safety, engineering, construction or a related disciplineMembership of Institution of Occupational Safety & Health or equivalentWhat we can offer youCommitment to your developmentLeaders guided by our Leadership PrinciplesA culture that welcomes you as the unique person you areInspiration from colleagues, clients and projectsThe long‑term thinking of a foundation‑owned companyFlexible work environment27 days annual leave plus bank holidaysMatched pension contributionsPrivate medical cover and life assuranceReady to join us?
