Employment and Training Specialist Grant Lead

Veterans Inc., the largest provider of services to veterans and their families throughout New England, is looking for a highly motivated and goal‑oriented professional to fill the Grant Lead Employment & Training position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team. This individual is responsible for client assessments, career/employment training, career/employment counseling and advocacy, outreach for homeless/at-risk veterans, attending networking events and career/employment fairs, and establishing/maintaining positive professional relationships with local employers. What You'll Be Responsible For Day To Day Monitoring grant goals and needs; addressing issues and concerns with the Regional Manager in a timely manner. Monitoring and documenting accurate data into the Veterans Employment & Training Operations and Programs Activity Report (VOPAR) system and complying with organizational and DOL data needs and requests. Understanding grant requirements and achieving goal outcomes as established by Veterans Inc. and DOL/VA. Completing and ensuring accuracy of necessary grant and contract reporting. Conducting audits of client files, as necessary, to ensure proper data documentation and audit readiness. Performing initial intake and assessments of all veterans for acceptance into Veterans Inc. programs. Assisting veterans in developing individual training plans that fit their specific needs and skills. Tracking and reporting case management progress through case notes and conferences with the manager, completing record keeping/documentation responsibilities for monthly reporting into the agency database, and coordinating with all funding sources. Understanding all Department of Labor's Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP) functions and initiatives. Understanding the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) functions and initiatives. Conducting outreach activities to market Veterans Inc. programs and engage new referral sources. Creating and maintaining information on the various retraining options available for veterans. Organizing and presenting job readiness workshops and developing other support services (interview skills, resume writing, etc.) tailored to meet the unique needs of veterans. What You Must Have Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or another related field required. Military experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's. Minimum of two years experience in Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Social Work or a relevant area required. Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
