Job Summary Loenbro is looking for experienced Pipe Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in welding to complete jobs for customers on time and on budget. This position will plan, lay-out, weld, install, evaluate, and repair all types of steel structures / piping in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing welding on new construction & maintenance - repairs on industrial projects.
• Supervise and train welder helpers.
• Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications, and plan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of structures in accordance with those plans and specifications.
• Examine and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise or that may occur. Take corrective actions as needed.
• Carefully choose filler metals and construction material to complete assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Prior welding experience in construction, mining or related industry OR a two-year vocational-technical degree preferred.
• Proficient in the properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and various welding techniques.
• Welding processes most used are SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW.
• Other processes utilized are Oxy-Fuel Welding and Cutting.
• Must have working knowledge of various welding codes and specifications.

Preferred:

• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be able and willing to follow all safety rules and regulations.
• High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship required.

Work Environment:

• Outside most of the time.
• Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
• Limited working surfaces.
• Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
• Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
• Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
• Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
• If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
