Carilion Clinic Department of Anesthesia and Virginia Tech Carilion (VTC) School of Medicine is accepting applications for Anesthesiologists to join our team in beautiful Roanoke, Virginia.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we develop a new Anesthesia Residency Program targeted to begin in Summer 2027.

Clinical responsibilities include patient care in the Anesthesia Department at Carilion Medical Center (CMC), an 835-bed tertiary academic health center. CMC is one of the largest and busiest Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers in the region with 49 anesthetizing locations and NORA rooms.

Salary Range, $500,000.00 to $635,000.00

Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary. In addition, comprehensive benefits and pension offerings further enhance the overall rewards package.

CME – Specific time provided and that there is additional dollars for it

The position includes an appointment at Virginia Tech in the tenure track at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Professor based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Research interest with Fralin Biomedical Research Institute-VT is supported.

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency

ABA Board certification or Board eligibility

Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, medications, and equipment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, particularly in high-pressure situations

In addition to offering high-tech services, the hospital is home to 30 Graduate Medical Education Programs affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Patients have access to nearby specialty clinics, family medical centers, and a host of personalized treatment options, making this the region's most comprehensive group of healthcare providers.
