An opportunity is available for an accomplished accounting professional to support complex financial reporting, accounting operations, and policy-related initiatives within a sophisticated corporate environment.

\n

\n

This role is well suited for someone who combines strong corporate accounting fundamentals with the ability to independently evaluate technical accounting matters, interpret reporting requirements, and support financial statement preparation.

\n

\n

The position involves close collaboration with accounting leadership and cross-functional business partners, with a particular emphasis on financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

\n

Financial Accounting & Reporting

\n

\n
• Manage and review accounting activities involving complex financial transactions.
\n
• Support periodic financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
\n
• Prepare and review documentation supporting financial and regulatory disclosures.
\n
• Ensure financial information is accurately maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
\n

Accounting Policy & Technical Research

\n

\n
• Independently research accounting pronouncements and reporting requirements.
\n
• Assess how accounting standards apply to new and existing business activities.
\n
• Assist with the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
\n
• Support financial reporting and disclosure requirements associated with public company readiness.
\n

\n

Controls, Collaboration & Process Improvement

\n

\n
• Evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to accuracy and efficiency.
\n
• Maintain appropriate financial controls and support internal and external audit requests.
\n
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, and business stakeholders to address technical accounting questions.
\n
• Provide guidance to accounting team members on complex transactions and reporting matters.
\n
• Support accounting activities involving investment, derivative, deposit, and treasury-related transactions.
\n

What We're Looking For

\n

Required

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent relevant experience.
\n
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience; 7+ years preferred.
\n
• Strong corporate accounting and financial reporting background.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP.
\n
• Experience with general ledger systems, accounting reconciliations, and financial close activities.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple deliverables.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n

Preferred

• CPA certification.
\n
• Background in technical accounting, accounting policy, or SEC reporting.
\n
• Financial services or banking industry experience.
\n
• Knowledge of investment accounting, derivatives, or treasury operations.
\n
• Familiarity with regulatory disclosures, internal controls, and audit support.
\n
• Experience supporting accounting teams through complex reporting cycles.

This is a contract opportunity requiring five days per week onsite in Charlotte, NC . The initial assignment is expected to last seven months, with the possibility of permanent employment based on business needs and performance.
