RN - Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic - Full Time

Job Summary This position acts as a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role effectively delegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; supports the company's philosophy of nursing and participates in activities aimed at achieving unit and department strategic goals. Education Required – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required – None. Preferred – Experience directly supervising or managing others. Certifications Required – Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – Certification in clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self‑directed and demonstrate good judgment. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision. Leadership skills. Job Duties Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families and other disciplines. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Use data, information and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes. Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, introduction, and communication style. Perform other related duties as required. Physical and Environmental Demands The physical demands include heavy work – lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and 10 to 20 pounds constantly. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue, and pose an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications.
