Respiratory Therapist, Per Diem, $10K Sign On Bonus

Employment Details Employment Type: Part time. Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift. Job Summary This per diem acute care respiratory therapy position requires critical thinking skills and knowledge of adult respiratory disease processes and respiratory therapy treatment applications. The RRT will work with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate proactive respiratory interventions in an acute care setting. Duties include floor care therapies, oxygen administration, endotracheal intubation and extubation, mechanical ventilation competency and arterial blood gas draws. Responsibilities Perform floor care therapies and oxygen administration following proper policy and procedure. Assist with or perform endotracheal intubation and extubation safely. Maintain clinical competency for mechanical ventilation in adult critical care units. Perform arterial blood gas draws from radial, brachial and femoral arteries. Collaborate with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans. Conduct diagnostic and function tests to assess lung capacity and capability. Meet with and examine patients with pulmonary diseases, disorders, or complications. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program (required). Work experience in all aspects of respiratory care (preferred). Competency in blood gas laboratory, maintenance, PFT and bronchoscopy assistance (plus). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by NBRC (preferred). Current State of Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. BLS and ACLS certifications (required). Fluency in adult mechanical ventilation principles and current practice guidelines. Active NBRC certificate. At least one year hospital experience. Willingness to work flexible hours in a per diem shift environment. EEO Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
