Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
Demonstrates the ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical services.
Demonstrates knowledge of sterile processing.
Demonstrates the ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Has experience in surgery support within the surgical team.
Has experience in life support situations related to surgical care.
Has experience in sterile field management.
Has experience in sterilization processes and requirements.
Has experience in supervision within surgical services (within ORT scope).

Required Credentials:
Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past Six (6) months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam) or two (2) years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last Three (3) years.

Preferred Credentials:
Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery.

Unit Details:
Performs duties as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures.
Ensures the operating room and surgical items meet sterilization criteria and maintains the sterile field.
Prepares the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures and assists surgeons during procedures within the ORT scope of practice.
May assist with sterile processing.
Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes.
Identifies emergency situations and exercises judgment when implementing response procedures.
Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure.

Shift & Scheduling:
Day shifts include call.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
