Analyst, FP&A -Fund Management

Carmel Partners, one of the nation’s leading specialists in real estate investment management, with expertise in the investment, development and construction of multifamily real estate, is seeking an Analyst, FP&A (Fund Management) in our New YorkOffice.The Analyst supports the Fund Management team’s financial planning, analysis and reporting activities, with a focus on fund performance, liquidity, valuations and investor-related deliverables. The role works with financial and operating information from across the Firm to support analysis of actual and forecast fund returns, capital calls and distributions, financings, capital availability and financial covenants. Everyone’s career journey is unique, so let’s explore how you could be a great fit for our team!What you’ll doSupport the maintenance and enhancement of fund-level liquidity, valuation, return and other financial models, including fund liquidity projections and supporting schedules for active investment funds and co-investment vehicles.Assist with quarterly asset valuations by compiling and validating inputs from multiple departments, performing supporting analyses and preparing materials for review.Prepare quarterly investor reporting and supporting files, including asset-level performance metrics, project status updates and fund-level performance information.Calculate and analyze projected asset- and fund-level investment returns on a quarterly basis, identifying significant variances or items requiring follow-up.Prepare and maintain supporting files and tracking for capital calls, distributions and subscription line activity.Assist with the preparation and distribution of quarterly capital account statements.Maintain investor management systems and the investor portal, helping ensure information and supporting materials are accurate, complete and current.Support Investor Relations with ongoing investor due diligence, quarterly and ad hoc information requests, consultant database submissions and annual investor meeting materials.Prepare and maintain performance reporting, including quarterly return models and related supporting schedules, as applicable.Support business intelligence, database and reporting initiatives that improve the accuracy, accessibility and efficiency of FP&A information.Complete ad hoc analyses, information requests and special projects in support of FP&A and broader Firm objectives.Who you areAnalytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.A clear and thoughtful communicator with strong written and verbal skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues at all levels of the organization.Proactive, self-motivated and intellectually curious, with the ability to take ownership of assigned work while seeking guidance appropriately.Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, recurring deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with a team-first approach and the ability to work effectively across functions.Interested in real estate investment management and motivated to build deeper knowledge of fund performance, finance and investment operations.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or a related field; accounting degree or strong accounting coursework preferred. CPA or progress toward CPA licensure is a plus.1-3 years of relevant professional experience; experience in real estate investment management, financial planning and analysis, finance or accounting is preferred.Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency, including building, maintaining and reviewing structured models and supporting analyses; working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.Familiarity with investor and fund management platforms (e.g., Juniper Square, Maybern) and accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, Yardi) is a plus.Experience working with databases, business intelligence tools and data-driven reporting is preferred.Ability to responsibly use approved generative AI tools and emerging technology to support analysis, research and workflow efficiency, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.Compensation and Benefits Compensation and benefits play a key role in your choice of employer, and our goal is to invest in you and your experience here. Total compensation for this role also includes a bonus incentive in addition to the base salary.
