Associate Actuary, Analytics and Forecasting

Role Description

The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. You will:

• Establish metrics and provide data analyses to support business intelligence.
• Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position.
• Ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data.
• Develop, build, and continuously improve complex reserving models leveraging cloud-based technology and advanced analytics.
• Play a key role in the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of a cloud-based reserving model.
• Leverage tools such as Databricks and Power BI to build, automate, and optimize reporting processes.
• Conduct in-depth analyses to identify opportunities for improving reserve accuracy and translate findings into actionable enhancements to the reserve model.

This position requires strong technical capabilities, along with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to turn complex data insights into practical model refinements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
• Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms
• Strong technology skills

• Proficient with SAS/SQL
• Experience with Databricks or Power BI
• Experience developing and applying predictive models

Additional Information

• This is a remote position.
• To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria:
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular, and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
• Employees who live and work from Home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
• Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
• Pay Range: $106,900 - $147,000 per year
• This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
