The Role As aSr. Planning Engineer, Infrastructure Planning you’ll play a critical role in designing and planningnetwork equipment,infrastructure and collocation solutions that enable scalable, future ‑ ready network expansion for Forged Fiber 37. Work Location - Hybrid in Denver, CO or Dallas, TX. Key Responsibilities : In this role, you will: Design and optimize network architectures and equipment layouts to support scalable fiber network growth Plan, design, and allocate central office and remote collocation space to enable network evolution and migrations Develop clear, build ‑ ready planning handoff packages for engineering and implementation partners Anticipate and model network capacity requirements using demand forecasts, inventory data, and strategic inputs Perform network analysis to identify optimal architectures that support investment and funding decisions You will operate as aself ‑ directedindividual contributor, bringing strong technical judgment, clear communication, and a high standard of quality and integrity while collaborating effectively in afast ‑ paced, dynamic environment. Required Competencies & Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree inEngineering , Computer Science, or relevant experience 3-5+ yearsexperience ofPONnetwork equipment design 3-5+ yearsexperience of collocationspace planning and design Experience utilizing network inventorytools such as3GIS, Netbox ,and O2 Knowledge ofOutside Plant and Fiber Optic Cabledesign principles Preferred knowledge of open access network designconcepts and use ofESRI based GIS tools High level of proficiency withMicrosoftExcelor equivalent program Work independently with little or no oversight,be able to self-manage their workload and deliver all projectsto meetdeadlines Strong documentation writing and analytical skills Must be highly adept at collaborating with others, at all levels in the organization Experience with Metro/Ethernet network a plus RSRFF37 What We Look For in a Candidate Forged Fiber ’s culture i s built on honesty, respect, trust, transparency, and a growth mindset. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors .
